Venue location: Ascot Race Course
Our heartfelt thanks to you for all your support. 33 teams took part, 506 survivors walked the Opening Lap and enjoyed the VIP reception. The event was opened by the Mayor of Bracknell supported by our own BBC news presenter and kidney cancer survivor Nicholas Owen, who is coming back to Topic in Januray 2011, and the incredible Fiona Castle, widow of the late worldwide entertainer Roy Castle and author. Fiona was amazing as she had agreed to stay on for the Candle of Hope ceremony in the evening but remained and walked ALL night. She has agreed to visit us in February to tell her story of overcoming grief and finding the courage to write about her journey and talk about her life and struggle with Roy's lung cancer. |
