Venue location: Ascot Race Course
The Silver Ring, High Street, Ascot, Berkshire, SL5 7JX on 17/18 July 2010

A message from the Relay Committee

Our heartfelt thanks to you for all your support. 33 teams took part, 506 survivors walked the Opening Lap and enjoyed the VIP reception. The event was opened by the Mayor of Bracknell supported by our own BBC news presenter and kidney cancer survivor Nicholas Owen, who is coming back to Topic in Januray 2011, and the incredible Fiona Castle, widow of the late worldwide entertainer Roy Castle and author. Fiona was amazing as she had agreed to stay on for the Candle of Hope ceremony in the evening but remained and walked ALL night. She has agreed to visit us in February to tell her story of overcoming grief and finding the courage to write about her journey and talk about her life and struggle with Roy's lung cancer.

So far we have raised over £73,000 to add to the £200,000 raised over the previous two years. The atmosphere was electric all weekend and the weather was kind to add to the obvious enjoyment of everyone there. Try and join us next year next year on July 16th and 17th 2011 when we will help Ascot Racecourse celebrate their 300th anniversary with all teams parading from the Grandstand in costumes of the period.
