MEETING OF 10th DECEMBER - A Christmas Social at home |
|
A SEASONAL SOCIAL
We met at Jan King's home in Great Bookham to enjoy home made organic dishes that warmed us up on such a miserable evening outside with contributions being brought by other members. There was a selection of liquid refreshment from fruit juices to Jan's own recipe mulled wine, which went down very well.
As a group we were able to relax and describe our personal journeys and compare care and treatment, with Jan ever ready to investigate a new or alternative medication on her laptop. It is fascinating that people with a very similar diagnosis and timetable have such different reactions to the same treatments and that just emphasises that we are all individuals to be treasured and appreciated as such.
It was a great pleasure meeting and chatting in such relaxed surroundings and we would all like to thank Jan for her generosity in opening her home to us and for all her hard work preparing and hosting the evening. We look forward to similar evenings in 2010 and another member has already offered his home to us. Many thanks also to all those that were able to join us.
Our next gathering is back at The Preston Cross Hotel on Thursday 14th January when Jenny Twydell will talk to us about diet and provide food demonstrations so I hope we will see you all there as this is a very important subject.
In the meantime both John and Nigel would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas wherever you may be, especially those who will have just a short break from treatment.
